Telehealth in Louisiana
Specialized Care, Wherever You Are
It can be harder for Louisiana residents to find a therapist trained in evidence-based OCD and anxiety treatment than for folks in other states. Telehealth helps to close that gap. Sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and are available to anyone in Louisiana, whether you're in the Baton Rouge metro, New Orleans, the North Shore, Lake Charles, Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, or a rural area hours from the nearest specialist.
The evidence for telehealth delivery is strong. A 2022 study of the largest reported treated OCD cohort to date found that video-delivered ERP produced large effect sizes comparable to in-person treatment, with meaningful improvements in both obsessive-compulsive and comorbid symptoms, and gains in quality of life — in less total therapist time than traditional weekly outpatient care. 1
Telehealth isn't a workaround. For OCD treatment in particular, it offers a practical advantage. Sessions can be conducted in the real environments where symptoms occur, which makes exposure work more direct and relevant than what's possible in an office.
